Battlefield 3
Well, it's finally here, one of the main reason's some of us know each other on the forums is finally getting a proper sequel.

All of what you're seeing is in-game footage, no pre-rendered scenes, thanks to the new frostbite 2 engine being rolled out for this. The engine is promising real-time radiosity (which is why the light appears to be very natural), animation blending and full destructibility of most objects in game (yes that means if you want to blow up a building, you can go right ahead and level the place).

So enough about the engine, here's some gameplay:

Now, although the amount you can see is fairly limited I've got to say I was pretty much blown away by this, the lighting looks absolutely spot on, the animation of dragging a fallen comrade intrigues me and by god there's a bit where you can see your feet.

But, those are inconsequential details, no doubt you just want to know the real details:

64-Player Multiplayer (PC)
24-Player Multiplayer (Console)
Full Singleplayer Campaign
Co-op Campaign
Air, Land & Sea Vehicles, including Fighter Jets
Prone
Not compatible with DX9
Fight in the US, Middle East & Europe
Mount your weapon to almost any terrain
Back to Karkand Expansion pack
(Incl: Weapons, Vehicles and 4 Maps from Battlefield 2)
(Maps: Wake Island, Strike at Karkand, Gulf of Oman & Sharqi Peninsula)
Upgraded Weapon & FOV system
A deeper bullet drop system than in BFBC2
Drag wounded soldiers to safety
Better optimized for x64
More unlocks/content than BFBC2
4 Classes
Battle Recorder is possible
Character Customization
Kill Cam
Dedicated Servers

Fingers crossed for the demo in October, can't wait to see how much this will melt my computer.

RE: Battlefield 3
You should come join the fun on bad company 2, I've been playing with the DowNies for a while now and it's always a good laugh. Definitely wait until it's on offer on steam though if you don't fancy forking out the big bucks on a new game, it did get reduced to about £6 over christmas so no doubt a new deal will come along once there's more bf3 info released next week at the GDC.
