C# VS 2005 - Crystal reports question
Hello to all,
When I'm running my application from the debug folder, I'm able to save changes to the database, but when I load the Crystal report to display that data, it still displays the old data, i.e., the data before the changes. Does it have anything to do with the database Build Action property and Copy property or it has something to do with the report source path? Thanks a lot, JC. |

If you do a disk search for the filename of the database, do you get just 1 result, or has C# sneakily created a file where it thinks you wanted one? ¬_¬

Hi Neko,
I'm running my application in the bin\Debug folder of its project. When I edit the data, it changes the database located in the bin\Debug folder but my Crystal Report loads the data from the database located in the root project folder. I solved this problem by setting the database location in the Crystal Report itself to the bin\Release folder. I was wondering if that will be a problem when I build a Setup Wizard project for my application... Should I set my Crystal Report's database location to the obj\Release instead? If not, what is the best thing to do in this case? Thank you very much. JC. |

Can you include the database into the project as a miscellaneous file? The setup wizard should then maintain path integrities on the installing system.

Hi Neko,
I'm either not looking in the right places or Crystal Reports for VS 2005 really has a design flaw! I tried the tips suggested by lots of people from other Forums as well, but to no avail. Crystal Reports should have an option allowing to set the form's database location to the application data path and compile it correctly at build time, regardless of what the path is. I'm puzzled. Any ideas? Thanks a lot for your attention, time and help. Bye for now, JC. |

Sorry JC, nothing more I know to try - I've never used crystal reports in any of my apps, those were just a couple of things I know C# tends to do with files on disk :/
