Can i copy a site before its changed?
Hello all,
Is there a way that i could copy a site before it is changed? By this i mean: Today for example, -a store is offering goods at £1.00 There are no terms & conditions on that site. Tomorrow the store realizes its mistake They then change a page to include certain T&C's..? Could i copy the original site and save it so that it can be dated, etc to prove the mistake and the offer? The above is just an example, and there isnt a store that is offering anything for £1.00, which is underpriced...Honest ![]() ![]() Any help appreciated, as always If it wasnt for this site and the people on it, i would have chucked away my Computer long ago ! and i would never have bothered with it again!!!! KEEP UP THE EXCELLENT WORK!! MAKE POVERTY HISTORY

Not really mate, you could take a screen shot (Print Screen), but I doubt they would honour it.
It never hurts to try though, it has worked for some in the past. - Techmonkey ================ Enterprise Business IT Support | SME IT Support | Home Support Available |

Ah Ok Mate,When i take the screen shot, unless the site itself is dated, i dont suppose there is an "official" way that i can prove that it was taken on a particular day, is there? Thanks anyway Tech' If it wasnt for this site and the people on it, i would have chucked away my Computer long ago ! and i would never have bothered with it again!!!! KEEP UP THE EXCELLENT WORK!! RE: Can i copy a site before its changed?
You could try using the way back machine, for example:
http://web.archive.bibalex.org/web/*/http://google.com (there is an input box at the top you can change the URL of). Or Google cache if you are lucky (but that only displays the most recent snapshot and won't display CSS on a lot of sites). Register Linux Machines: 408537, 413272, 413273, 435704, 435721

No guarantees I'm afraid, the way back machine doesn't archive everything all of the time, worth a shot though.

RE: Can i copy a site before its changed?
Does it matter? I thought if you pay the price they asked for at the point of sale then they couldn't then change it later. It doesn't matter what they write in their t&c if it is superseded by law.
And you have the record of your credit/debit card to show what they charged |
