Changing the auto update prompt time

Once again, I've spent the last 3 days sitting here being nagged incessantly by "Windows needs to restart to install updates." To which my answer is consistently "Not now Keito!"

I have loads of stuff open, much of it running as background services to other stuff, and I don't wish to lose track of what I'm doing. Unfortunately, by the time I leave work, windows will have prompted me probably twice, another half hour or hour will have passed, and I'll have forgotten. Then I'll just close my laptop and hibernate it again, as usual.

It would be totally lovely if there was an option to say "Prompt again at this time of day XX:YY"

Then it'd just be a case of setting that to 5-10 minutes before I leave work. Nice and easy, and one of the very very very few good times to ask anyone to reboot.

Don't suppose any helpful sys admin has a trick for this?

You could always write a post-it note and stick it on the screen, reminding you to reboot ? (not exactly what you wanted, but the best i can do at the minute)

Doesn't help prevent the fact that windows will be nagging me constantly through the day :/

Start / Run / gpedit.msc / Local Computer Policy / Computer Configuration / Administrative Templates / Windows Components / Windows Update / Re-prompt for restart with scheduled installations

Works... but I don't really want to disable it altogether, just have a specific time of day (i.e. when I'm about to leave work) that I get prompted.

I'm guessing nobody in Microsoft Development does normal office hours - I rather see them as turning up "about" 10, going home "around" 6, and doing "some" work in the evening.

On the up side, i have now found Allow Automatic Updates Immediate Installation which should reduce the amount of crap that needs to happen when I do finally reboot
