DELL Inspiron mini 10
Hi, have an Inspiron mini 10, it boots through log-on but then freezes almost as soon as you start to do anything on it, I don't know if this is virus/malware or a hardware problem, from what I've already read on line I'm thinking it's a known hardware problem with the Inspiron, any advise on how to resolve most welcome??

RE: DELL Inspiron mini 10
does it boot into safe mode ?

Restart your computer in the usual manner:
  • Click START
  • Click Shut Down
  • Choose Restart from the menu options
As soon as the computer turns off and starts to turn back on again, begin to tap the F8 key on your keyboard repeatedly.

This should bring you to a "Safe Mode Menu", choose the top option for Safe mode. (If you do not get the menu, repeat the process but begin tapping F8 a little sooner)

If it boots into safe mode it points more to a software problem rather than hardware.

RE: DELL Inspiron mini 10
Hi, yes I can boot into safe mode, I've been able to download and run malwarebytes which highlighted two suspect files which I've attempted to remove, only problem being that when confirming restart it hang when powering down. Killed power manually and restarted in normal mode, I'm trying to install and run combofix but I need to uninstall AVG first which is proving troublesome ... any ideas or do I need to change forum now?, still unsure if this is spyware related though as it's hanging randomly, what do you think?
