Cleary, was arrested at his family's home in South Beech Avenue, Wickford, Essex.

Ryan Cleary, the teenager arrested on Monday for involvement in distributed denial-of-service attacks and hacking, has been charged with offences under the Criminal Law Act and Computer Misuse Act.

Quote:Cleary, 19, will appear before the City of Westminster Magistrates' Court on Thursday on five charges. Exclamation

Quote:Responsibility for the IFPI and BPI outages was claimed by the activist group Anonymous, while the Soca attack was part of the AntiSec campaign launched on Sunday by Anonymous and LulzSec combined.

Cleary was arrested on Monday following an investigation by the Metropolitan Police Service's Police Central e-Crime Unit (PCeU), with assistance from the FBI. Apart from the charges he faces in the UK, there have been reports that Cleary could face extradition to the US over his involvement in international DDoS attacks.

I think we will hear alot more about this in the next few days or so?

Update

It seems that there are unconfirmed reports of a Hacker war between LulzSec and TeamPoisonExclamation

Quote:BREAKING NEWS: TEH LULZBOAT HAS OFFICALY SANK WITH 100S OF ANON MEMBERS ON BOARD!

No matter how many bots you gather, no matter how much people you lie to, no matter how much pre-made tools you use, you will _NEVER_ represent the real hacking scene, we warned you, we told you we do not make empty threats, we gave u 48hrs to secure your ircs yet u failed to do so, instead u posted hashes from public forums and then claimed you doxed us and laughed at the fact that i was 17years old. stop telling yourself that u are hackers, putting a ip into a irc is NOT hacking nor is using pre-made tools and scripts to grab databases... you do not represent the anti-sec movement, u are not allowed to greet underground groups like zf0, ab, h0n0, el8 like your member "AnonSabu" was doing, you will never be apart of the underground scene, if anyone thinks you are underground and can actually hack they have no idea about what happens in the underground scene. oh and TeaMp0isoN Issue 2 is coming out VERY soon exposing lulzsec members (pictures, addresses, passwords, ips, phone numbers etc). . . . not so anonymous anymore are you? lets hope that you can swim because the lulzboat just got titanic'd...

The above has been taken from the website report, the spelling mistakes are not mineSmile

I wonder how his [Ryan Cleary] day in court will go?
Im thinking ...hopefully im wrong, but a Scapegoat springs to mind?

UPDATE

Quote:Ryan Cleary, The teenager accused of being a master hacker behind cyber attacks including one which brought down the website of the 'British FBI' has been remanded in custody for further questioning.

Matthew McCabe, prosecuting, told City of Westminster Magistrates Court: 'My application is that Mr Cleary is remanded for a period of up to three days to enable the police to make enquiries into further offences.'
I wonder what other offences they will put into this trail?

Quote:Mr Cooper, who also represents alleged hacker Gary McKinnon, said: 'Mr Cleary has been fully cooperating with the police and he wishes to continue to assist police with questioning.'
At least he has got a decent brief.

Quote:District Judge Quentin Purdy, giving the police the extra time, said: 'Certain charges in any event will be sent for trial to the Crown Court but I am asked to adjourn matters to allow further questioning not making any decision as to bail.

If convicted, Cleary faces a possible jail sentence of up to 10 years under the Computer Misuse and Criminal Law Acts.

You know this has got to go to crown, if convicted, a possible 10yr stretch, and i suppose, because of where the alleged crimes were targeted, a possible fight against extradition?

Lulzsec have to be one of the biggest jokes around at the moment.

After hacking the Bethesda servers they demanded Bethesda put a Lulzsec top hat in the upcoming Elder Scrolls Skyrim game.
